Members of the school Cross County team visited Stover School on Wednesday 6th March to participate in the South Dartmoor Schools partnership tournament which saw 20 schools gather to compete against one another. In total there were over 500 pupils racing across the events with girls and boys races for both the year 3/4 and 5/6 competitors. Runners made their way around a gruelling and arduous running course at Stover School in a series of fiercely competitive races. The year 3/4 team showed a fantastic team effort and displayed great determination throughout their races with all the pupils pushing themselves right up to the finish line.
The year 5/6 team followed suit again with a fantastic team effort, showcasing an impressive strength in depth with all runners placing highly within the field, none more so than Jess White who sprinted her way into silver position from further back in the field during the girls race. A startling score of 65 secured victory for the year 5/6 team over the other 19 participating schools. The team now progress through to the Devon Winter Games championship!
